Village of Big Springs Continues Nuisance Program
In an effort to clean up the community, the Village of Big springs continues to move forward with the Nuisance Program. The Nuisance Officer, West Central Nebraska Development District Inc. (WCNDD), has begun windshield assessments. Residents with potential nuisance violations will be receiving Courtesy Letters, asking them to clear their property of potential nuisance items.
The Village of Big Springs 2024 Cleanup Days are May 1st through May 15th. The Village officials will provide roll off dumpster for disposing of non-hazardous goods and trees limbs, NO LAWN CLIPPINGS, ANYTHING W/FREON, TIRES, BATTERIES, OIL, PAINT, CLEANERS, AEROSOLS, FERTILIZERS, PESTICIDES, LIQUIDS OF ANY KIND, OR APPLIANCES are allowed located at the Village Maintenance Shop located at RR & 4th Street.
Items that will be looked at are appliances, tires/auto parts, unlicensed vehicles and trailers, dead trees, trash, inoperable machinery, scrap wood and iron not neatly stacked, pallets, an accumulation of buckets/barrels/feed tubs, broken windows, and compromised roofs on a structure. A complete listing of items considered a nuisance can be found in the Nuisance Ordinance. Anyone wanting a copy of the Ordinance may contact the Village Clerk during business hours.
