Building Permits

Section 9-101 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Big Springs requires that any person desiring to commence or proceed to erect, construct, repair, enlarge, demolish, or relocate any building or dwelling or cause the same to be done, including but not limited to a lawful burning pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. §28-506, shall file with the village clerk an application for a building permit.

    from the Village Clerk at the Village Office during regular business hours, listed below:

                            Monday - Wednesday - Friday 
                                    (8:30am - 1:00pm)
                                  Tuesday - Thursday
                                    (8:30am - 4:30pm)

Fill out all items on application.

A drawing of proposed construction must be included with the application.

Furnish the administrator with a legal description and location of legal markers of property lines.

♦ Return application to the Planning and Zoning Administrator, Dick Huff.  He will make a physical inspection of the site and approve or deny the application, he will collect the required building permit fee and will return the application and fee to the Village Clerk for Permit issuances.  Checks must be made payable to: Village of Big Springs

♦ Standard permit fees apply only in the case of on time (before construction) filings.  Any application filed after construction has commenced shall pay a fee that is four times the standard fee.

♦ If the work for which a permit has been issued shall not have begun within 90 days of the date thereof or if the construction has not been substantially completed within two years of the date of issuance, a new application and permit fee is required.
