Deuel County Flood Study - Public Open House
Deuel County, Nebraska is currently undergoing a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mapping project to provide up-to-date flood risk information for the county. At the conclusion of this project, FEMA will issue new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) with updated floodplain boundaries. These updated boundaries could affect flood insurance requirements for property owners. The Nebraska Department of Natural Resources (NeDNR) will be hosting a public open house in order give property owners the opportunity to learn about their flood risk and ask floodplain-related questions. The open house is scheduled for:
Wednesday, July 6, 2022 - Deuel County Annex - 169 Vincent Avenue Chappell, Nebraska 69129 (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. MDT)
At the open house, community members will have the opportunity to speak with floodplain mapping experts from the NeDNR. Attendees will be able to work individually with these experts to learn about flood risk and flood insurance information for their specific properties. The project is being implemented by the NeDNR with financial support from FEMA.
